Social Media Marketing Workbook Introduction

In Social Media Principles we are starting a new book, "Social Media Marketing Workbook" by Jason McDonald. This book is the second of three that we will be reading during the duration of the course.

"Social Media Marketing Workbook" seems to be far more in-depth than our previous book, "The Art of Social Media" by Guy Kawasaki and Peg Fitzpatrick. The "Social Media Marketing Workbook" gives detailed instruction and insights into the usage of several major social media platforms, including; Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and LinkedIn.

"Social Media Marketing Workbook" is just that, a workbook, so I am imagining that we will be taking worksheets out of the book and completing them throughout reading the book.

I find this more helpful than just reading the book because it will provide us with more training for actual social media work.

During the duration of this book study, we will also be keeping tabs on two companies on social media. We will be reviewing their content and measuring their media as we progress through the book.

I have chosen to analyze two major league baseball teams, the Cleveland Indians, and the St. Louis Cardinals. I know that the Cleveland Indians have one of the more established social media presence in the sports world, so I am looking forward to understanding their process better.
